County Board of Education

The Contra Costa County Board of Education works with the County Superintendent of Schools to provide leadership, service, and support to the districts and all students of Contra Costa County through teamwork, communication, integrity, creativity, expertise, and advocacy for all learners. 
 
Communications to members of the Board are public records and may be subject to disclosure under the California Public Records Act – California Government Code, Section 6250 et seq.  This means that information submitted to the Board may be posted on the Board’s website or otherwise made available to members of the public for inspection and/or copying.  Please note that members of the public are not obligated to provide personal identifying information in communications to the Board.

Omit St, Dr, Ln, Ct, etc., when searching by address for the best result. Click on the "My Elected Officials" or "My Districts" and the Contra Costa County Board of Education areas and representatives are listed under the "Schools" tab.

 

HOW IS THE BOARD ORGANIZED?

The Contra Costa County Board of Education is the elected Board of Education for the County of Contra Costa. The Board of Education consists of five members elected by trustee districts to staggered four-year terms. Each Board member represents a different area of the county and must be a registered voter in that area. In accordance with the California Education Code and certain other rules and laws, the Contra Costa County Board of Education the County Office of Education.

WAYS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD

Individuals wishing to provide public comment may address the Board by:

  • Attending a Board meeting in person and completing a Speaker's Card available on the table at the back of the meeting room and submit the card to the Clerk to the Board prior to the meeting.
  • Attending a Board meeting virtually using the link on the agenda or posted on the CCCOE website and using the "raise hand" feature.
  • Submitting written public communications or documentation by email or mail to the Clerk to the Board by 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the week preceding the meeting.
