Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant
The California Department of Education (CDE) was awarded $37.5 million in Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant funds to leverage and expand statewide literacy supports to improve student outcomes in reading.

Contra Costa County Office of Education is pleased to partner with San Diego County Office of Education for the Priority 4 project entitled "Every Child Reads." The goal of this project is to build school capacity to support students struggling with reading, including students with disabilities and students with dyslexia by:
- Building capacity to serve struggling readers by strengthening district and site multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
- Developing district and site literacy plans and implement evidence based strategies through improvement cycles
- Increasing family and community engagement in literacy
