English Language Arts/ English Language Development
CCCOE offers technical assistance, leadership, planning, and professional learning to support the implementation of the CA ELA/ELD Framework in K-12 classrooms. Services are based on individual district and school needs. Our services include:
- Support in leading and monitoring standards-based curriculum implementation.
- Improve teacher expertise in content and pedagogy to accelerate student learning and meet grade-level expectations.
- Coaching and leadership support in literacy around Tier 1 instruction, UDL, and multi-tiered systems of support.
- Assist with meeting the English language development of multi-lingual learners.
- Develop and facilitate customized professional learning.
- Facilitate a CCCOE ELA/ELD Subcommittee, a countywide collaboration with representatives from districts throughout, focused on relevant updates from federal and state agencies, and engaging in communities of practice around shared problems of practice.

Reading Instruction and Intervention Grant
Contra Costa County Office of Education has joined San Diego and Glenn County Offices of Education to sponsor "Project Arise," which focuses on professional learning for K-12 educators statewide to support students with disabilities, students with dyslexia, and students who are dually identified. California Collaborative for Learning Acceleration Grant
The Contra Costa County Office of Education is proud to partner with Santa Clara County Office of Education as a regional hub on the California Collaborative of Learning Acceleration (CCLA) Grant. This project provides free, on-line, self-paced modules of professional learning about learning acceleration. Learning Acceleration is “about building bridges rather than filling holes” and provides student access to current grade-level content, rather than returning them to past content. Courses include an introductory course, and explicit strategies in math, literacy, and language development. Click here to access the free on-line courses.
