Contra Costa County Office of Education's Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program is designed to empower aspiring educational leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today's demanding administrative posititons.

The 2025-26 Cohort Application Window Has Closed. The 26-27 Cohort Application Will Open in June 2025.

Program Highlights:

  • Earn your administrative credential in one year!

  • Saturday in-person classes at CCCOE Boardroom, virtual PLC meetings, and mid-program summer seminar.
  • Job-embedded experiences designed to support successful completion of CalAPA.

  • Coursework applicable to a Master’s degree in partnership with National University.
  • Cost-effective program ($8,000, includes core text book, materials, and non-refundable $200 application fee. Payment plans available.)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Possess one of the following valid credentials:

    • A clear or life California teaching credential that requires a baccalaureate degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching or the equivalent, and holds an English Learner authorization; or
    •  A clear or life designated subjects teaching credential in adult education, career technical education, vocational education or special subjects, provided the applicant also possesses a baccalaureate degree, and holds an English learner authorization; or
    • A clear or life California services credential in pupil personnel services, health services for school nurse, teacher librarian services, or speech-language pathology or clinical rehabilitative services requiring a baccalaureate degree and a program of professional preparation, including field work or the equivalent. 
 
  • Have a minimum of four years of full time certificated teaching/school services experience with a valid credential. Applicants may be in their fifth year while concurrently completing the PASC program.

When is the Application Period?

Applications for our 25-26 Cohort are accepted through December 1, 2024. The next application window opens June 1, 2025. 

What is the Cost of the Program?

The CCCOE PASC Program is $8000. The $200 application fee is applied towards the remaining balance. Admission includes the core text, materials, and $200 non-refundable application fee. *Does not include CalApa Fees and additional textbooks. 

What are the Eligibility Requirements?

When Will I Know if I Have Been Accepted into the Program?

Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis each month. Applicants will be notified within 30 days of submittal about their status.
 

Do the Courses Meet in Person?

Classes take place, every other Saturday, in person, from 8:30 to 4:30pm at Contra Costa County Office of Education Board Room at 77 Santa Barbara Road in Pleasant Hill. Fieldwork sessions and group assignments take place virtually. 

How Long Does it Take to Complete the Program?

The CCCOE PASC program is 11 months long. It begins in February and ends in January of the following year. The first three courses meet from January through June. Participants meet for a three day seminar in June. Courses then resume in August and end in December. Fieldwork courses meet from February through January. The end of program Leadership Symposium takes place in person at the end of January.
 
The optional Masters Program through National University takes one additional year. 

Do You Provide Cal APA Support?

Yes, there is a fieldwork course specifically designed to support completion of all three Cal Apa Cycles. Students are assigned faculty to help support with submissions. Course work is aligned to Cal Apa Cycles whenever applicable.
