State and Federal Programs
The State & Federal Programs team provides professional learning and technical assistance to schools and districts with state & federal grants and programs, accountability, and LCAP.
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) administers programs authorized and funded by Congress. These programs provide financial aid:
-
for eligible applicants for elementary, secondary, and college education;
-
for the education of individuals with disabilities and of those who are illiterate, disadvantaged, or gifted; and
-
for the education of immigrants, American Indians, and people with limited English proficiency.
The California Department of Education (CDE) receives this financial aid in the form of federal grants from the U.S. Department of Education and distributes the funding to LEAs according to the guidelines of the grant.
