Major Tasks
 
  • Monitor LPC’s compliance with CDE mandates, contract responsibilities and fiscal solvency
  • Oversee use of funds related to LPC activities and mandates
  • Disseminate Comprehensive Countywide Child Care Plan and Needs Assessment to interested parties including the County Board of Supervisors, County Office of Education, County Board of Education, businesses, government, parents, and community agencies
  • Review and revise meeting and subcommittee format as needed
 

Advocacy

Major Tasks
 
  • Develop Early Care and Education Platform for LPC approval. Advocacy platform will focus on collective agenda that will guide LPC’s local strategies with a focus on: informing and connecting the public with local, statewide and national resources
  • Plan and organize LPC’s Annual Young Children’s Issues Forum
  • Identify evaluation strategies and develop business plan for project
  • Foster collaboration and partnership with CCDAA, Children Now, CAPPA, PACE, AEYC, FCC and CalSAC associations
 

Workforce Development and Family Partnership

Major Tasks
 
  • Facilitate the alignment of services and foster collaborative efforts with community partners to elevate professional development opportunities for the workforce.
  • Ensure that families in Contra Costa are well-informed and confident in their early care and education choices.
  • Oversee implementation and distribution of the A Road Map to Kindergarten© Guide; develop a business plan for the project.
 

Nominating

(Ad Hoc) Structure: Members to be appointed by Chair at May meeting

Major Tasks
 
  • Request nominations for LPC Officers
  • Prepare a slate of proposed officers
  • Present slate of proposed officers to Council for voting at May meeting
  • Develop council activities and events that promote peer relationships for new and prospective council members
