Contra Costa County Office of Education

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program is a federally funded program designed to help low income and at risk youth access employment, education, training, and support services to enable them to succeed in the labor market. CCCOE Youth Services receives WIOA funding to operate the Supporting Student Success (SSS) and Reconnecting Youth to their Future (RYTF) programs in Contra Costa County.

Our purpose is to help young people enter the workforce and post-secondary education with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful by providing work experience, mentoring, academic support and career development assistance. We train youth in workplace preparation skills so that they are ready to obtain their first job or paid work experience and assist with career exploration leading to a career pathway.
  • In -School Youth Program  provides high school students with academic monitoring, post-secondary preparation and financial Aid information.
  • Out-of-School Youth Program assists out-of-school youth, (ages 18-24) with school re-engagement, diploma/GED attainment and assistance with advanced training.

CCCOE partners with local employers to host youth in the WIOA program for work-based learning experiences. As a partner in Earn & Learn East Bay we coordinate work-based learning opportunities including:
